Playground Games is rolling out a major content drop for Forza Horizon 6, centered on Italian performance machines. The next four weeks will bring 10 cars available to earn through gameplay, three of which debut in the franchise for the first time.
The push kicks off June 16 with Series 3, branded Italian Exotics, and runs through August 13. Players can unlock vehicles by accumulating seasonal points. Early standouts include the 2024 Lamborghini Temerario and 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB, both requiring grind across the full Horizon Decades series. Single-season earners include the 1982 Lancia 037 Stradale, 2020 Ferrari Roma, and 2022 Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, each tied to specific seasonal challenges.
Beyond the core playlist, Playground is staging a limited takeover at the Aftermarket dealership near Horizon Stadium. Six rare Italian vehicles normally locked behind Forza's randomized Wheelspin mechanic will spawn there temporarily. The lineup features a 2012 Ferrari 599XX Evolution, 2019 Ferrari F8 Tributo, and the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, giving players a structured path to cars they might otherwise chase through luck-based rewards.
A fresh update arrived ahead of Series 3 with mechanical improvements and economic changes. Playground crushed exploits that let players farm XP and credits through Auto Drive abuse and dominance in The Eliminator mode by disabling races. The studio also bumped up Auction House ceilings for rare vehicles no longer sold through the standard Autoshow.
Most dramatically, Playground nuked the entire Rivals Leaderboards. The decision came after discovering players weaponized glitches to post impossible lap times. While legitimate times earned for Collection Journal unlocks will remain intact, the competitive standings now start fresh. A full wipe of PR Stunt Leaderboards is coming once those exploits are patched, though the developer hasn't set a timeline.
"We understand this will be disappointing to players with legit lap times; however, we've chosen this approach so that way everyone has a clean sheet to play with going forward," Playground said in its announcement.
A separate paid DLC option is now live. The Italian Passion Car Pack, included free with Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade owners, adds four cars ranging from the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB4 Spider to the 2025 Ferrari F80.
Author Emily Chen: "Leaderboard resets sting, but Playground did the right call nuking a corrupted competitive space; the real question is whether the game's farming tweaks stick or players find new workarounds within weeks."
