PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting a heavyweight lineup for May, with Sony delivering two major franchise titles alongside a slate of indie and classic offerings.
The star of the month is Ubisoft's Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world adventure that lands on the service just as The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters. The game marks the first major Star Wars film release since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker. Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 also returns to the catalog this month, complete with access to Red Dead Online, arriving as conversation around the upcoming GTA 6 continues to dominate gaming discourse.
Beyond the heavyweights, Sony is padding the roster with several smaller titles. Bramble: The Mountain King puts players in the role of young Olle, tasked with rescuing his sister from a troll in a dark fantasy setting. The Thaumaturge caters to turn-based RPG fans with morally complex storytelling and character-driven narratives. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, from the studio behind Aspen, offers Souls-like combat, as does the Italian-inspired Enotria: The Last Song. Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templar: Reforged, a revamped version of the classic adventure game, rounds out the new additions.
All these titles are available to PlayStation Extra and Premium subscribers. Those with Premium access get an additional bonus: Time Crisis, the arcade light gun classic from the original PlayStation era. The console version includes exclusive special stages and new gyro-aiming controls.
Author Emily Chen: "Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead 2 make this one of the strongest monthly drops in recent memory, though the real value depends on whether subscribers have already claimed these blockbusters previously."
