Love and Deepspace Goes Full Werewolf Mode with Mysterious New Romantic Interest

The otome game Love and Deepspace is about to get a lot wilder. Publisher Infold announced that Valko, a werewolf character and the shadowy head of an EonCore Tech division, will arrive in the game on July 9 as part of Version 6.0 A Shattered Quiet.

Valko's arrival comes with a complete romance storyline and new companion unlocks. The publisher's official description leans hard into the predatory mystique: "A creature of fangs and claws hides within the concrete jungle. The wind stills, the grass bows, as he awaits the perfect moment to go for the throat, then your figure suddenly enters his sight."

The gaming community did not hold back. One commenter christened this era "Love and Furspace." Reddit lit up with Twilight-inspired memes and fan speculation that Valko drew inspiration from Bang Chan of the K-pop group Stray Kids. Player enthusiasm was immediate and loud, with fans declaring their devotion across social platforms.

The timing marks another significant addition to an already massive franchise. Love and Deepspace launched on Android and iOS in January 2024 and has since racked up more than 31 million downloads. Player spending crossed the $1 billion mark by May 2024. Caleb became the last romantic interest to join before Valko, debuting in January 2025.

The werewolf love interest represents a calculated expansion of the game's appeal. Otome titles have long thrived on romantic fantasy and supernatural intrigue, and Valko's animalistic edge offers fresh ground compared to the game's existing roster. Whether players are drawn to the dark charm or simply eager for new narrative content, the new character has already generated the kind of viral buzz publishers dream about.

Author Emily Chen: "Infold just weaponized furry appeal in a mainstream dating sim and the fandom is eating it up, which tells you everything you need to know about where otome games are heading."
