Disney Dreamlight Valley just pulled back the curtain on its next major update, and the shift in strategy is as notable as the content itself. During a summer livestream, Gameloft unveiled Honeyglow Woods, the game's inaugural Adventure Pack, marking the first time the cozy life sim will sell smaller paid expansions alongside its usual free updates and major expansions.
Honeyglow Woods arrives July 8 for $16.99 and centers on Winnie-the-Pooh's 100th anniversary. Players will gain access to a new area of the Valley, three playable Pooh characters (Winnie, Piglet, and Eeyore), and the usual suite of cosmetics, furniture, and recipes tied to the new zone. Each character gets their own story quests and relationship progression, plus customizable homes that can be placed anywhere you want, including the Honeyglow Woods area itself.
The Adventure Pack model represents a meaningful departure from how Dreamlight Valley has operated since launch. Rather than waiting months between major expansions like last year's Wishblossom Ranch, Gameloft plans to release these smaller paid add-ons more frequently alongside free content drops. A developer description called them "paid add-ons to be experienced alongside our free content updates."
The new area introduces a creative portal mechanic. Instead of the pocket universe doors players are used to, Honeyglow Woods features a tree you plant anywhere in your valley. Once it matures, it opens a gateway to the new region. Better yet, the tree can be moved after it grows, giving players flexibility with their landscaping. The same tree-planting system applies to key buildings like Chef Remy's restaurant and Scrooge McDuck's shop, cutting down on travel time for errands.
Honeyglow Woods also brings fresh gameplay elements. A new beekeeping system lets you place flowers near hives to generate honey, a crafting material for new meals and furniture. Hedgehogs debut as a new collectible critter. Perhaps most notably, a multiplayer minigame called Pooh Sticks lets you race items down a river with villager companions, adding social activities to a game that could use more downtime fun.
Beyond Honeyglow Woods, Gameloft teased a full 2026 roadmap. Ralph from Wreck-it Ralph arrives as a villager this July. Two free updates are scheduled for September and December, with a paid expansion launching in October. The developer promised 2026 will be "their biggest year so far," though specifics remain sparse.
The stream also opened community voting for the next house skin, which will launch later this year. Players can already cast votes for their preferred design.
For existing players, the timing works well. Honeyglow Woods comes just weeks away, giving longtime fans a quick dose of new content after the quiet months since Wishblossom Ranch. Bundle pricing also exists, letting new players grab the base game and Adventure Pack together for $49.99, with limited cosmetics available for early adopters.
Author Emily Chen: "This Adventure Pack model could be exactly what Dreamlight Valley needs to stay fresh between the bigger drops, especially if Gameloft can maintain quality across more frequent releases."
