Activision is rolling out a bespoke machine built for battle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Dreadnought, a tactical SUV designed by Aston Martin and developed by Infinity Ward, launches with the game this week as a fully weaponized luxury vehicle that merges supercar DNA with military-grade hardware.
The vehicle arrives immediately at launch, spawning at key locations within DMZ mode (the franchise's extraction shooter experience) and across Warzone's battle royale. Players will find Dreadnought combines hypercar-level performance with armor plating and what Activision calls "adaptive combat zone intelligence systems," all wrapped in a dramatic V12 engine roar that channels the brand's racing heritage.
What sets Dreadnought apart is the collision of two design philosophies. Aston Martin's signature touches run throughout: herringbone carbon fiber weaving on the exterior, Oxford Tan leather dashboard inlays, a metallic gold gear shifter, and the marque's iconic Chiltern Green paint. Door hinges arrive in anodised Satin Gold. Yet scattered among these ultra-luxury flourishes sit military-grade armor plating and integrated command systems that no road car would ever need.
"To me, Dreadnought is unmistakably an Aston Martin, amplified without restraint," said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's Chief Creative Officer. He emphasized that every design choice, from the carbon fiber chassis down to hardware details, reflects the brand's real-world commitment to ultra-luxury appeal. The vehicle's name itself pays homage to HMS Dreadnought, the revolutionary early 20th century British battleship that redefined naval warfare.
Activision's own description frames Dreadnought as having left the usual Aston Martin habitat behind. "An Aston Martin's natural habitat is amongst luxury properties and landscapes," the company joked. "Dreadnought simply has a slightly more adventurous commute."
Players attending Fanatics Fest in New York this weekend will see a full-scale model of the vehicle on the Call of Duty stand, offering a firsthand look at how Infinity Ward and Aston Martin translated high-end automotive design into the digital battlefield.
Modern Warfare 4 launches October 25, 2024, across Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Author Emily Chen: "Dreadnought feels like the kind of over-the-top flex that Call of Duty lives for, and Aston Martin's refusal to compromise on luxury details even in combat mode makes it genuinely memorable."
