Final Fantasy 7 Revelation's Story Pass Surfaces in Store Database

Square Enix is planning story-focused downloadable content for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, according to a listing discovered in the Epic Games Store database. The Story Expansion Pass appears alongside placeholders for up to nine separate DLC packs, signaling that at least some post-launch content will expand the game's narrative rather than simply adding cosmetics or items.

What those story additions will cover remains unconfirmed. The community is already buzzing with possibilities, ranging from adaptations of the anime film Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children to material drawn from spin-offs like the action shooter Dirge of Cerberus. Some players are hoping to see Genesis, the antagonist from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, incorporated into the main story in some form.

Revelation arrives as the final entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake project. The first game launched in 2020 on PlayStation 4, with enhanced versions later reaching PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. Its sequel, Rebirth, is already available across all platforms. Revelation is scheduled for release in the first half of 2025.

Author Emily Chen: "The leak confirms Square Enix isn't done mining the Final Fantasy 7 universe for content, and this could be their last real shot at making the remake trilogy feel like a complete story."
