Rebel Wolves has unveiled eight minutes of exclusive gameplay from The Blood of Dawnwalker, an upcoming RPG that puts players in control of a man battling a vampire curse. The footage, released as part of a month-long deep dive into the game, shows protagonist Coen during his human phase, exploring forgotten ruins and uncovering secrets that tie to a larger supernatural conspiracy.

The gameplay sequence, titled In Deep Down, follows young Coen as he descends into underground caves hunting for a missing local named Lazar. What begins as a rescue mission quickly evolves into something far stranger. As Coen examines ancient murals carved into the cavern walls, he stumbles upon references to legendary heroes and hints of buried treasure, suggesting the ruins hold mysteries far older than anyone in the village realized.

The footage demonstrates several core mechanics that shape exploration and discovery. An investigation system allows players to piece together hidden lore by examining environmental details, which in turn reveals the locations of special items and treasures. The game rewards players for curiosity and thoroughness, encouraging them to comb through environments for clues that expand the world's mythology.

Combat appears swift and deliberate. The eight-minute clip concludes with Coen facing off against The Forgotten Guardian, a boss encounter that showcases sword-based action. The fight is cleanly choreographed, suggesting combat timing and positioning matter as much as raw stat advantages.

The Blood of Dawnwalker's core premise centers on Coen's dual nature. Cursed to transform into a vampire after dark, he must learn to master both his human and monstrous forms to rescue his family from a court of corrupt bloodsuckers.
