Free Assassin's Creed Maps and Checklists Hit IGN for One Month Only

IGN is opening the gates to its full suite of Assassin's Creed guides at no cost this July, stacking the deck for players hunting collectibles, trophies, and 100% completion across three major titles in the franchise.

Through July 31, gamers can unlock unlimited access to interactive maps and comprehensive checklists for Assassin's Creed Shadows, Valhalla, and Mirage without paying for a subscription. The move arrives ahead of the Black Flag Resynced remaster, scheduled for release on July 9, 2026.

The free tools cover a staggering amount of ground. For Shadows, IGN has built a detailed interactive map of Japan with thousands of marked locations, letting players track down every Origami Butterfly and Samurai Daisho. The checklist system syncs directly to the map, updating in real-time as players complete objectives. Full walkthroughs, collectible guides, and trophy lists round out the Shadows package.

Mirage players get similar treatment with a Baghdad-focused interactive map marking collectibles, equipment, and quest locations across both the inner and outer city. A recent update added Gear Chest tracking to the checklist system, so completed items automatically cross off on both the map and the guide. The Enigma location database and platinum trophy guide are also included.

Valhalla received the most ambitious coverage: IGN has created ten separate interactive maps, one for each Norse region from Norway through Asgard. The guides track Flyting Locations, Artifacts, Wealth items, and other collectibles. DLC content for A Fated Encounter, the Odyssey crossover expansion, also comes with updated checklists.

Beyond these three recent entries, IGN maintains guides for older franchise favorites, including the original Assassin's Creed, Origins, and the first Black Flag. The guides library extends across the entire series, offering newcomers and veterans alike a way to systematically hunt down completionist rewards.

Author Emily Chen: "Free checklist access for a full month across three AAA games is a rare move, and it smartly times with the Black Flag remaster hype to funnel players into the franchise's catalog."
