UN finds Israel deliberately killing Palestinian children in Gaza

A United Nations inquiry has concluded that Israeli forces have deliberately targeted and killed Palestinian children throughout the Gaza conflict, with children comprising roughly 30 percent of all casualties from Israeli military operations.

The independent commission of inquiry examined violations committed against Palestinian minors since the war began and documented a pattern of deliberate targeting that continued even after a ceasefire took effect in October 2025. Srinivasan Muralidhar, who chairs the commission, stated directly that the evidence demonstrates Palestinian children were intentionally killed by Israeli security forces.

This latest finding builds on a September report from the same commission that concluded Israel has committed genocide in Gaza. That earlier investigation also identified Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as having incited such acts. Netanyahu separately faces war crimes charges from the International Criminal Court.

Israel's government rejected the commission's findings sharply. The Israeli mission in Geneva dismissed the report as a "libellous sham" and has consistently fought back against genocide allegations while maintaining strong diplomatic backing from allies including the United States and United Kingdom.

Beyond UN investigators, a growing body of analysis from human rights organizations and genocide scholars has reached similar conclusions. Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and independent researchers worldwide have produced research indicating Israel intends to destroy the Palestinian population.

Author James Rodriguez: "The consistency of findings from independent investigators, rights groups, and scholars creates a difficult reality for those still claiming ambiguity about what's happening in Gaza."
