A 51-year-old man fell to his death inside Madison Square Garden on Saturday night while attending a concert, New York City police confirmed. Emergency responders arrived at the Manhattan arena around 9:51 p.m. after a 911 call and found the man unconscious with injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated area of the building. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have withheld his identity pending family notification.
The incident occurred during the second night of a two-show run by Goose, a Connecticut-based rock band. The group released a statement acknowledging the tragedy. "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred," the band said on Facebook.
Authorities did not specify the exact height from which the man fell or the precise location within the arena where the incident took place. The circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation.
