Halo Studios is ready to take Master Chief back to the beginning. Preorders for Halo: Campaign Evolved are now live across multiple platforms, with the remake launching July 28 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC. Three distinct editions give players options at different price points, each bundling different extras alongside the core experience.
The Standard Edition carries a $49.99 price tag and includes the full game in either physical or digital formats across all platforms. Everyone who preorders, regardless of edition, gets the Foundry Armory Pack as a bonus, which contains classic 2001 Mark V armor and Assault Rifle skins plus their Gilded Onyx variants.
For $69.99, the Premium Edition exists only in digital form and packs significantly more content. It grants five days of early access starting July 23, the Alpha Halo Armory Pack with exclusive weapon and character skins, a digital art collection, and a reimagined version of the original 2001 game manual. The collection also includes a new digital short story by Troy Denning titled Halo: Hungry Buzzards, which serves as a prelude to the game's new Operation: METEORITE storyline.
The Collector's Edition stands out as the premium offering at $199.99, though it is currently out of stock. This version bundles everything from the Premium Edition along with a 12-inch Dark Horse Master Chief statue, light-up LED Cortana chip, steelbook case, three concept art prints, and a physical game disc. Steam versions include a code instead of a physical disc.
What exactly is players getting with this remake? Halo: Campaign Evolved rebuilds 2001's Halo: Combat Evolved using Unreal Engine 5, preserving the original 10-mission campaign while adding something entirely new. Operation: METEORITE is a three-mission story arc featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson on a covert UNSC operation aboard a Covenant research vessel, set a year before the events of the first game. This content comes included with every edition.
The game marks a significant multiplatform push for the franchise, ending Xbox exclusivity for the campaign experience. Standard physical copies run $49.99 across Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart for both Xbox and PS5, with digital versions available through platform storefronts and Steam at the same price.
Author Emily Chen: "Three-tier pricing with tangible physical collectibles at the top signals confidence in this remake, though the Collector's Edition stock already drying up suggests Halo Studios expected serious day-one demand."
