Rayman Legends Retold preorders go live with October launch date

Rayman Legends Retold is officially up for grabs ahead of its October 1 release, with preorders now available across multiple platforms at varying price points.

The standard edition runs $39.99 whether you opt for a physical copy on PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2, or go digital on PlayStation, Xbox, PC via Steam, or Epic Games Store. Physical versions arrive with some extra goodies: a copy of Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, the Glade of Dreams map, three lithographs, and the Hoodlum Havoc Pack bonus. Digital standard copies include just the enhanced edition of Origins and the preorder bonus pack.

For those willing to spend a bit more, a $49.99 deluxe edition exists on digital storefronts only. That tier bundles the Retro Pack featuring four costumes, an in-game art gallery, and Origins: Enhanced Edition alongside the main game.

Everyone who preorders receives the Hoodlum Havoc Pack regardless of edition, which contains Rayman and Globox costumes inspired by Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc.

The remake marks a significant overhaul of the 2013 original. Ubisoft is pushing fresh 3D visuals, a new story with fully voiced cutscenes, and an entirely new sixth realm. Players will encounter four new musical stages, dragon riding sequences, revamped Cave of Trials challenges, and an expanded soundtrack from composers Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope. The beloved Kung Foot minigame returns with improved controls and customizable rules.

A hands-on preview noted that these additions, combined with quality-of-life improvements to the overworld navigation, justify the remake's existence rather than simply re-releasing the original title.

Author Emily Chen: "This isn't just a nostalgia cash grab, the feature set actually gives longtime fans a reason to return."
