Control Resonant is officially up for preorder following its reveal during June's State of Play presentation. Remedy's sequel to 2019's Control will launch September 24, with buyers choosing from four different versions at varying price points.
The standard physical edition costs $59.99 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X through Best Buy. For those seeking premium packaging, a steelbook variant runs $69.99 and features a black and red case with protagonist Dylan Faden on the cover, plus fine art prints and a key art poster.
Digital shoppers have equal flexibility. A standard digital version matches the physical edition at $59.99 across Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox, and Epic Games Store. The digital deluxe edition, available at the same retailers for $69.99, packs considerably more content: a digital artbook, starter resource bundle, AWE Mission outfit, Untapped Artifact wallet item, and the original soundtrack. PS5 buyers of the deluxe edition also get 48 hours of early access.
Everyone who preorders digitally receives two bonuses regardless of edition: the Hiss Corruption outfit and Pickpocket's Tool artifact.
Control Resonant marks Remedy's next chapter in the franchise, this time centering entirely on Dylan as the sole playable character. The story unfolds in a warped version of Manhattan, where impossible architecture and shifting realities hide threats born from a new resonance phenomenon. Early hands-on impressions from outlets like IGN suggest the sequel could exceed the original, particularly in its melee combat mechanics.
Author Emily Chen: "The variety in preorder options gives players real choice, and if the combat lives up to the hype, Remedy might have a genuine successor to the original on its hands."
