The Guardian is rolling out a fresh podcast format designed to strip away the anxiety that often comes with keeping up on current events. "Stateside with Kai and Carter" pairs hosts Kai Wright and Carter Sherman to explore the day's biggest stories through conversations with accomplished journalists and leading thinkers across the political spectrum.
The show arrives as audiences increasingly struggle with news fatigue. Rather than sensationalize or amplify conflict, the hosts aim to discuss complex issues in a way that feels accessible and grounded. New episodes drop three times weekly: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The program debuts May 13 across multiple platforms including YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Instagram, and TikTok, giving listeners flexibility in how they consume the content.
Author James Rodriguez: "A weekly dose of thoughtful discussion might be exactly what the news cycle needs right now."
