Rudy Giuliani hospitalized in critical condition

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is in critical but stable condition at an undisclosed hospital, his spokesman Ted Goodman announced Sunday. Goodman did not reveal the specific hospital or the nature of Giuliani's illness.

"Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition," Goodman wrote on X. "Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he's fighting with that same level of strength as we speak."

President Donald Trump confirmed the hospitalization in a post on Truth Social, taking aim at Democrats while discussing Giuliani's condition. "Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition," Trump wrote. He added that Giuliani "was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL."

The 81-year-old Giuliani served as Trump's personal lawyer and led efforts to overturn the 2020 election results through litigation. His legal troubles have mounted significantly in recent years. He was disbarred in both New York and Washington, D.C. as a result of his involvement in the post-election campaigns. Georgia and Arizona both brought state charges against him related to his actions following the 2020 election. Additionally, special counsel Jack Smith named Giuliani as an unindicted co-conspirator in his federal election interference case against Trump. Giuliani has denied all allegations.

Author Sarah Mitchell: "The timing and specificity of his hospitalization remain a mystery, but Giuliani's legal troubles show no signs of easing even as his health deteriorates."
