Nintendo, Square Enix, Dark Knight Deals Light Up Weekend Sales

A fresh crop of discounts hit retailers this weekend, with notable price cuts on major gaming releases and collectibles that should appeal to both casual players and dedicated collectors.

Nintendo's upcoming Yoshi platformer is already on sale ahead of its launch. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is marked down $10 at Walmart and Amazon, bringing physical copies to $59.99. The timing matters: Nintendo recently announced that physical games will cost $10 more than their digital counterparts going forward, making this sale a return to previous pricing for those preferring cartridges.

For Switch 2 owners, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade dropped to $29.99 at Walmart. The port includes all enhancements from the PS5 version plus Episode INTERmission, featuring Yuffie Kisaragi as a playable character. With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth arriving on the platform in early June, this represents an ideal opportunity to catch up on the remake before the sequel launches.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is priced at $49.99 across all platforms this weekend. The HD-2D remake is positioned as both an entry point for newcomers to the Dragon Quest franchise and a way for series veterans to revisit the original after experiencing the recent Erdrick Trilogy Remakes.

Film collectors will find The Dark Knight Trilogy 4K Steelbook Collection at $106.16 on Amazon, representing an 18% discount. The package bundles all three Christopher Nolan films in individual Steelbooks alongside a fourth case containing collectibles: lenticular cards, storyboards, and a certificate of authenticity.

Anime fans can grab the complete JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders series for $32 at Amazon. Both Blu-ray sets containing all 48 episodes are individually discounted to $15.99 each. The Stardust Crusaders arc remains one of the franchise's most popular installments, featuring iconic characters like Jotaro Kujo and Joseph Joestar.

The 86: Eighty-Six anime Blu-ray collection is available for $25.99 at Amazon through Viz Media. The package includes all 23 episodes from the military science fiction series.

Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 Bundle for Switch 2 is offering a $20 discount as part of a limited-time promotion. The console bundle provides an entry point for players interested in the upcoming Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launch.

Splatoon Raiders, the series' first single-player-focused title, opened pre-orders ahead of its July release. New amiibo figures of Frye, Shiver, and Big Man are also set to arrive July 23, alongside physical Switch 2 copies of the game.

Author Emily Chen: "These sales show publishers and retailers understand gamers want value, whether they're chasing nostalgia with remakes or jumping into fresh franchises."
