Nintendo Sweetens Yoshi Switch 2 Preorders With Free Tote and Bookmark

Nintendo is rolling out preorder incentives for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book ahead of its May 2026 debut on Switch 2. Customers who reserve the game through My Nintendo Store UK will receive a magnetic bookmark and tote bag at no extra charge.

The physical edition costs £58.99, while the digital version runs £49.99. Those who have already placed preorders will get the bonus items added automatically without any additional action needed.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book positions itself squarely as family entertainment. IGN's Leanne Butkovic described it as deliberately pitched toward younger players, calling it "the most E-rated of Nintendo's most recent slate of E-rated games." Butkovic's preview noted the game doesn't aim for broad multi-generational appeal in the way some other Nintendo releases do, but rather focuses on delivering "something cute and low-stakes" for kids.

The preorder bundles align with that positioning, pairing the game with merchandise clearly designed for the youngest gaming audience. The tote bag and bookmark represent a straightforward approach to moving preorders for a title aimed at families with young children.

My Nintendo Store UK has also begun accepting preorders for other recent releases, including Splatoon Raiders, the single-player focused entry in the Splatoon franchise. The digital version is priced at £41.99, with the physical copy at £49.99. Customers can also purchase three new amiibo characters as a bundle for £49.99.

Author Emily Chen: "Nintendo knows exactly who it's selling to with this one, and the preorder package shows they're committed to the family market."
