CS2 Streamer Gets 10-Year Ban After Punching Opponent on Stage

A German esports tournament has handed down a decade-long suspension to a Counter-Strike 2 player following a physical altercation during the awards ceremony at CAGGTUS Leipzig, part of the German-speaking world's largest LAN party.

MAUschine, a 30-year-old Berlin-based streamer and CS2 competitor, struck opponent Fabian "Spidergum" Salomon as both players approached the stage for awards distribution on April 19. The incident occurred after MAUschine's team lost to Spidergum's Legends Lobby in the tournament bracket.

Video footage shows Spidergum mimicking MAUschine's in-game victory call, yelling "papichulo" (MAUschine's own alias) after winning a round. The tension apparently boiled over during the ceremony, with the clearly stunned host eventually ordering MAUschine off the stage while Spidergum appeared confused by the sudden physical confrontation.

Tournament organizer DACH CS Masters issued the ban within hours. "We do not tolerate physical assaults against other players at LAN and have acted accordingly," the organization stated. "MAUschine is banned for at least 10 years and the incident has additionally been reported to ESIC." The statement added that violence has no place in their league.

The Tier S tournament featured a 5v5 format with modest prizes, including a beginner LAN seat for 2027, a cooling system, and a free hot beverage voucher. First place carried the most valuable reward by a wide margin compared to the other placements.

Regnum4games, the German esports organization representing Spidergum, announced it would provide legal support to its player. Community figures have already called for a lifetime ban rather than the 10-year suspension.

Spidergum himself downplayed the situation in a post on X, joking that MAUschine's punch was more accurate than his AWP rifle skills on stream. His casual response suggested he did not intend to escalate the matter further.

Author Emily Chen: "A decade-long ban is serious, but the fact that the victim basically shrugged it off with a joke might be the most German esports moment of 2026."
