Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports Group, confirmed the agreement to ESPN. James announced the move Friday morning on social media, writing that he believes he can help deliver the 76ers their first NBA title since 1983.
The 41-year-old departs Los Angeles after eight seasons with the Lakers. His new contract structure gives him an exit after one year while limiting Philadelphia's long-term salary commitment, a flexibility that suits both sides as James enters what he has signaled may be the final phase of his career.
