Tim Burton's Dark Classics Get 4K Steelbook Upgrade This Fall

Two standout films from Tim Burton's catalog are heading to 4K steelbook this September, giving collectors a chance to own beautifully packaged versions of "Sleepy Hollow" and "Sweeney Todd."

Both releases arrive September 22 at $34.99 each and are available for preorder now. The steelbooks include 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital copies, bundled with extensive bonus content that digs into the making of each film.

"Sleepy Hollow" marks a reprint of a previous steelbook edition, so fans who missed the original release have another window to secure it. The package features director commentary from Burton himself, along with documentaries titled "Sleepy Hollow: Behind The Legend" and "Reflections on Sleepy Hollow."

"Sweeney Todd" comes loaded with material showcasing Burton's collaboration with stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. The bonus features include behind-the-scenes footage from rehearsals and recording sessions, a press conference, and deep dives into the musical's history and theatrical roots. The collection rounds out with "The Razor's Refrain" featurette, design galleries, and an unscripted conversation between Burton and Depp.

Steelbooks have become collector favorites but tend to move quickly once released. Neither of these titles has a limited-window announcement attached, though pre-ordering sooner rather than later is advisable to avoid potential sellouts.

Author Emily Chen: "These are exactly the kind of releases that justify keeping a 4K player connected. Burton's visual style demands the upgrade, and the bonus content here actually justifies the premium price."
