Humble Bundle has rolled out a new charitable collection spotlighting Arc System Works fighting games, with proceeds supporting the Raiden Science Foundation and its Fight4Rare initiative. The Arc System Works EVO Collection bundle runs through July 17 and offers tiered pricing: a 10-item package for $5 or more, a 13-item bundle at $10 or more, and the complete 16-item collection for $20 or more. The full bundle carries a $340 retail value.
The foundation was created by Tommy and Linda Pham to advance research into rare genetic diseases, inspired by their own son, Raiden, who was diagnosed with UBA5 Disorder at three months old. The condition is so uncommon that fewer than 100 children worldwide have been identified with it. Despite severe developmental challenges, Raiden maintains a spirited disposition that shapes his parents' mission.
When doctors initially told the Phams there was little hope for their son, Tommy rejected that conclusion. He and Linda established the Raiden Science Foundation in November 2021 with a mandate to prioritize research into diseases affecting small populations. The foundation has since partnered with UMass Chan Medical School and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and is now pursuing FDA approval to manufacture a potential treatment for UBA5 Disorder. The organization is targeting $3 million in funding.
Fight4Rare, the fundraising arm of the foundation, emerged from the gaming community's enthusiasm to support the cause. Originally titled Kombat4Rare, it has expanded to encompass titles beyond fighting games. The initiative specifically draws inspiration from Mortal Kombat and Raiden's name, positioning gamers as agents of change for larger causes.
Guilty Gear -Strive- holds particular significance in this bundle. The game arrived on shelves just months before Raiden's diagnosis, and it became a source of comfort for Tommy during one of his family's most difficult periods. The title also features Ky Kiske, a character whose lightning-based abilities and thematic focus on hope create an unintended symbolic resonance with Raiden's own story.
The 10-item tier includes Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Kill la Kill If, Chaos Code New Sign of Catastrophe, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, Guilty Gear, and 10 percent discounts on five Guilty Gear -Strive- Season Passes. The 13-item package adds BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Special Edition, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 Deluxe Edition, and Arcana Heart 3 LOVEMAX SIXSTARS!!!!!! XTEND. The top tier supplements those with Guilty Gear -Strive-, BlazBlue Central Fiction, and Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celestus.
The bundle's timing aligns with Evo 2026, the premier fighting game tournament scheduled for Las Vegas from June 26 to 28. Mark Julio, known in the fighting game community as MarkMan and serving as Director of Global Business Development at Evo, played an instrumental role in connecting the Pham family with broader community support. His advocacy helped transform what began as one family's personal struggle into a collective effort across the fighting game community.
Tommy Pham reflected on that support, saying the community's willingness to stand alongside his family elevated their mission. What started as a parent's fight to save his son evolved into a shared commitment across the fighting game world, and that backing continues to fuel the foundation's work today.
Author Emily Chen: "A charity bundle that combines some of the year's best fighting games with genuine, life-saving research is exactly what community-driven fundraising should look like."
