A new pixelated beat 'em up set in AMC's zombie universe has just been unveiled. Odaclick Game Studio and publisher Trailmark Games revealed The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival with its first trailer, putting players in control of Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne as they battle through the franchise's bloodiest conflict.
The game draws from All Out War, the storyline that chronicled Rick's group clashing with the Saviors and their bat-wielding leader Negan. Rather than adapt the show's drama directly, the developers have reimagined this arc as a scrolling action game where players punch, slash, and shoot their way through walkers and human enemies alike.
Each of the three playable characters brings their signature weapons to the fight. Rick carries his magnum revolver, Daryl wields knives and his crossbow, and Michonne slices through opponents with her katana. The 30-second gameplay clip shows all three characters facing off against both undead and living foes pulled from the show's universe.
Familiar locations will serve as the game's battlegrounds. Players will explore the Sanctuary, Hilltop, and Alexandria, each enhanced with dynamic environmental hazards and intense set pieces. Boss battles feature recognizable characters like Negan and Simon in multi-phase encounters, alongside other bosses including Winslow and the Well Walker.
The game launches on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, though Trailmark Games has not yet announced a release date. A Steam demo is already available for players interested in trying it before launch. The developers promise multiple difficulty settings to help players master each character's unique moveset, though the game appears to be a single-player experience with no multiplayer functionality mentioned.
Odaclick previously developed The Karate Kid: Street Rumble, which employs a similar visual style and genre approach. Trailmark Games indicated today's reveal is just the beginning of what it plans to announce from its new publishing slate. The Walking Dead franchise continues to expand across multiple mediums as AMC explores different corners of its post-apocalyptic world.
Author Emily Chen: "Taking one of the show's most brutal arcs and turning it into a throwback brawler is exactly the kind of unexpected creative choice that keeps franchise tie-ins interesting."
