A 2,500-piece LEGO recreation of the Great Deku Tree from Nintendo's Legend of Zelda franchise is rapidly disappearing from retail shelves ahead of its planned retirement at the end of July. The set, priced at $299.99, remains in stock at only one major retailer: Walmart.
The modular build has proven hugely popular with collectors, and the looming discontinuation has accelerated demand across online and physical stores. LEGO Store, Amazon, Target, and Best Buy have all sold through their inventory, leaving fans with dwindling options to grab the set before it exits the market permanently.
The Great Deku Tree set offers a unique feature: it can be reconfigured to match either the character's appearance from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild. Both versions showcase intricate detail and nostalgic references to the Zelda universe.
The build includes multiple minifigures with custom pieces. Link arrives equipped with the Master Sword and Hylian Shield, while Zelda carries her Sheikah Slate. The set also features brick-built Koroks and Hestu, the latter complete with red maracas. Various minifigure variants come with bespoke clothing, hair, and weapon attachments.
The retirement timing coincides with renewed interest in the Zelda franchise. Nintendo announced yesterday during its Direct presentation that an Ocarina of Time remake is in development exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. A cinematic reveal featured tapestry art of the Great Deku Tree in Kokiri Forest, with narration suggesting involvement from the sage Rauru. The presentation also showed an in-game model of Young Link but provided no other gameplay details or release window.
For collectors seeking the LEGO set, time is running out. With most major retailers already depleted, the window to purchase at standard pricing before the July deadline is rapidly closing.
