A classic monster-brawling game is making its comeback. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered launches November 3 across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Xbox, with preorders already available at major retailers.
Physical copies are limited to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, priced at $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. Both Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop currently have stock available for preorder. Digital versions can be wishlisted on PlayStation Store, Xbox, and Steam, though pricing has not yet been announced for those platforms.
The timing puts the remaster just ahead of GTA 6 and alongside the theatrical release of Godzilla Minus One, potentially drawing fans eager to scratch the monster-fighting itch.
What the Remaster Brings
This is a ground-up visual overhaul of the 2002 original, designed to amp up the cinematic feel of kaiju combat. Developer Atari has also tweaked the gameplay and reworked the unlock system, letting players grab monsters, stages, and gallery items in any order rather than following a preset path.
The original earned an 8.5 review score at launch, with critics calling it the finest Godzilla game of its era. Whether the remaster can hold up that legacy will become clear once it arrives later this fall.
As of now, no preorder bonuses have been announced, though that could change before launch.
Author Emily Chen: "A solid arcade fighter from two decades ago getting the pixel-polish treatment is a smart move, especially with the franchise riding high on Minus One's cultural moment."
