Star Wars Zero Company Preorders Live Now, Two Editions Available

Star Wars Zero Company is officially up for preorder, with the tactical strategy game set to launch August 27 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The reveal came during Summer Game Fest, where developer EA also showcased fresh story footage of the Clone Wars-set adventure.

Two editions are available. The Standard Edition runs $59.99 on consoles, though PC players get a $10 discount at $49.99. The Deluxe Edition costs $69.99 on PlayStation and Xbox, and $59.99 on PC, but appears to be digital only across all platforms.

Both versions come bundled with the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack as a preorder bonus. This includes the R3 droid along with translucent crystalline heads for R4 and R5 variants, plus the BR-1 droid debuting in the game.

The Deluxe Edition sweetens the deal considerably with cosmetics spanning multiple Star Wars factions. Players get the Grand Army of the Republic and Republic Officer uniform, the 100th Clone Company armor set, and ARC Trooper gear. Shadow Collective cosmetics include a Pyke helmet and five tattoo options. Additional faction packs cover the Hutt Cartel, Death Watch, Black Sun Syndicate, and Crimson Dawn.

Weapon customization is extensive in the premium version. Five exclusive painted weapon themes arrive alongside cosmetic sets themed to the 100th Clone Company, Kafrene Informant, Black Sun Syndicate Enforcer, Bespin Security, and Separatist Warrior archetypes.

Zero Company is an XCOM-style turn-based tactics game where players lead a ragtag squad of soldiers and specialists through clandestine operations during the Clone Wars. The protagonist is Hawks, a disgraced Republic officer commanding a crew of mercenaries and unlikely allies from across the galaxy. The roster mixes astromechs with Force users and bounty hunters tasked with confronting a galactic threat operating in the shadows of the larger conflict.

Author Emily Chen: "The cosmetic pricing is getting aggressive, but if you're planning to sink hundreds of hours into a turn-based Star Wars game, the Deluxe Edition's faction unlock speed might be worth the extra ten bucks."
