The materials in question surfaced last week on social platforms: grainy character artwork depicting a blond boy in a school uniform and a girl with black and red hair, along with what looks like the game's logo,a green "P6" inside a circle. Persona Central, a prominent fan community hub, reported the images came from an outsourced animation studio and had been authenticated by established Persona leakers.

By this week, clearer versions of the logo and concept art began circulating online. Sega's legal team responded with copyright removal notices, though numerous copies of the material remain accessible across various platforms. X user Dkmariolink, among those hit with takedowns, confirmed receiving a DMCA notice from Sega and pledged not to repost the content.

The timing is significant. Sega's enforcement action arrives ahead of Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for this Sunday. The aggressive removal of leaked assets typically signals a publisher preparing to announce a major title imminently, and industry observers are already treating a Persona 6 reveal as a near-certainty at one of this weekend's presentations.

The franchise has been dormant from a mainline perspective since Persona 5 launched in 2016, though Sega has kept the IP in the public eye through multiple spinoffs and enhanced re-releases. The series has gained particular momentum on Microsoft's platform over the past two years, with day-one Game Pass arrivals becoming standard. Xbox confirmed just yesterday that Persona 5: Royal would hit Game Pass on June 9, further fueling speculation about what Persona news the company might have queued up for its showcase.

Sega has not yet commented on the takedowns or responded to requests for confirmation regarding Persona 6.
