The Philadelphia Eagles moved star wide receiver AJ Brown to the New England Patriots on Monday, ending months of speculation about the three-time Pro Bowl selection's future in green.
The trade reunites Brown with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, who previously worked with the receiver in Tennessee. Philadelphia receives a first-round pick in 2028 and a fifth-round pick in 2027 as compensation.
Brown had grown increasingly frustrated during his time with the Eagles, setting the stage for the franchise to explore moving him. The frustration ultimately triggered the deal that sends him to New England, where Vrabel plans to build around the dynamic pass catcher.
The move marks a significant shift for both franchises. The Eagles clear cap space and acquire premium draft assets, while the Patriots add a proven receiver to accelerate their offensive rebuild.
Author James Rodriguez: "This deal flips the script entirely for New England's passing game and gives Vrabel a legitimate WR1 to work with from day one."
