Reality TV Icons Return for Refinery29's Summer Lookbook Shoot

Refinery29 brought together a powerhouse lineup of reality television alumni for its 2026 Summer Lookbook, reuniting Naima Mora, Toccara Jones, Mercedes Yvette, and Molly O'Connell for a high-fashion editorial that celebrates the stars who defined a generation of competition television.

The shoot, helmed by photographer Nigel Barker with styling guidance from Miss J Alexander, aimed to capture something beyond seasonal trends. The creative team built the campaign around a central theme: the making of a star, focusing on transformation and visibility rather than flawless execution.

Brooke DeVard, Refinery29's Chief Content Officer, explained the shoot's underlying philosophy. "The Refinery29 Lookbook has always been about more than just trends," she said. "It's about celebrating the creative visionaries who shape culture and collaborating with them to bring the season's most inspiring fashion and beauty ideas to life." For this installment, the focus narrowed to what happens when someone chooses to be seen, stripped of perfection and polish.

The resulting lookbook offers five distinct aesthetic directions for summer: the Summer Maximalist, the Resort Queen, the Office Siren, the Best-Dressed Plus One, and additional styling concepts designed to inspire readers navigating the season's fashion landscape.

Author Jessica Williams: "Seeing these familiar faces step back into the spotlight for something this creative reminds you that fashion and pop culture nostalgia still have serious cultural staying power."
