Formula Legends Lands Massive Formula E Deal for 2026 Expansion

Developer 3DClouds has secured an official partnership with the FIA Formula E World Championship, bringing a fully licensed racing expansion to its indie hit Formula Legends next year.

The Formula E: Electric Evolution expansion launches April 30, 2026, on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, with Nintendo versions arriving later. The pack will include the complete grid of manufacturers, drivers, and teams from the championship, along with six real-world tracks: Berlin, Tokyo, London, São Paulo, Miami, and Shanghai. Players will race across three generations of Formula E machinery: GEN1, GEN2, and GEN3 vehicles.

3DClouds CEO Francesco Bruschi framed the deal as a natural fit for the studio's multi-era racing philosophy. "To have a series as prestigious and entertaining as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in our racing game Formula Legends is truly extraordinary," Bruschi said. "Formula E has been a fantastic partner for us and incorporating drivers, teams, tracks, cars, branding from this series and even its iconic theme has been a joy from start to finish."

The expansion represents a significant step forward for Formula Legends, which launched as a passion project celebrating racing history across multiple decades. The base game has already established itself as a charming alternative to mainstream racing sims, blending arcade energy with genuine motorsport fandom. Adding a fully sanctioned electric racing series underscores the project's growing appeal to both casual players and racing enthusiasts.

Bruschi added that the team hopes players will embrace the effort to authentically represent Formula E within the game's ecosystem.

Author Emily Chen: "Getting major FIA licensing is a huge validation for an indie racer, and Formula E's electric future feels like the natural next chapter for a game already obsessed with racing eras."
