D&D Launches Star-Studded Actual Play Show With Baldur's Gate 3 Cast

Wizards of the Coast is bringing tabletop gameplay to screens with Dungeon Masters, an official actual play series that taps into the star power of Baldur's Gate 3. The show launches April 22 and features Neil Newbon and Devora Wilde, reprising their roles as Astarion and Lae'zel voice actors, alongside DesiQuest's Jasmine Bhullar, Dispatch's Mayanna Berrin, and 13 Reasons Why actor Christian Navarro.

While the cast won't be playing their iconic Baldur's Gate characters this time, they'll guide viewers through fresh D&D content designed to premiere alongside the company's seasonal release calendar. The inaugural season ties directly to the Season of Horror, with Ravenloft: The Horrors Within serving as the anchor release.

Each episode will drop in tandem with new Play-Along Packs available through D&D Beyond, giving pre-order customers access to corresponding encounters. The first pack goes live free this week, letting players test their mettle against the Zombie Clot and Swarm of Zombie Limbs before the full Ravenloft book releases.

The show reflects Wizards of the Coast's shift toward a tighter content calendar. After the Season of Horror wraps, the company will roll out its Season of Magic in July, headlined by the Arcana Unleashed sourcebook. October brings the Season of Champions, though product details remain under wraps.

The move also keeps Baldur's Gate momentum alive while fans wait for the next installment. Hasbro has indicated that another Baldur's Gate game is planned, pending the hiring of a development studio. Separately, an HBO Baldur's Gate television adaptation is in development.

Author Emily Chen: "Dungeon Masters is a smart bet, blending the celebrity pull of BG3's cast with actual play content that hooks casual viewers and serves hardcore D&D players at the same time."
