The Invincible VS beta is winding down, and players are leaving with a clear message for developer Quarter Up and publisher Skybound Games: do something about rage quitting.
The tag-team fighting game, based on the comic book series and Amazon TV show, has been live since April 9. As the test period nears its end, frustrated players have been reporting a persistent problem: opponents who disconnect the moment they start losing, with virtually no in-game consequences.
The issue appears widespread enough to concern even casual players. "If someone as casual as myself is experiencing this frequently then that's a bit worrisome when you think about how the playerbase will be for this game," one beta tester wrote on Reddit. "Safe to say we're going to need an automated penalty system to deter rage quitting in this game for sure."
Rage quitting itself is hardly new to competitive gaming. Most multiplayer titles, especially fighting games, already employ deterrents like queue time delays or temporary bans. Invincible VS currently lacks any such system, leaving would-be quitters free to bail without repercussion.
