Konami UK has unveiled a new Steelbook case for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, though the company has remained silent on whether collectors outside the UK can snag one.
The limited case features artwork depicting Old Snake and Big Boss and will be available for preorder starting April 10 through select UK retailers. However, it remains unclear whether the Steelbook is sold separately or bundled as part of a special edition that includes the full game.
The collection itself arrives August 27, 2026 across Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It packages together Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, marking the first time MGS4 escapes its PS3 exclusivity.
Konami has already confirmed improvements to the MGS4 version, including enhanced internal resolution, higher maximum framerate, and remappable controls. Peace Walker will similarly gain customizable control schemes, though visual enhancements for that title haven't been detailed.
The lack of clarity surrounding the Steelbook's regional availability follows the pattern of Konami's handling of earlier Metal Gear collections. Preorder pages for other regions haven't materialized at major retailers, leaving fans in North America and elsewhere guessing whether this is a UK exclusive or simply hasn't been announced yet.
The company previously faced technical issues with the first Master Collection volume at launch, so attention now focuses on whether Vol. 2 ships without comparable problems. Konami has also reworked the multiplayer experience in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater with a new Fox Hunt mode.
