Master Chief Graces Fanta Cans as Microsoft Marks 25 Years of Xbox

Microsoft is marking Xbox's silver anniversary with an unconventional partnership: a series of limited-edition Fanta bottles and cans featuring some of gaming's most recognizable characters, from Master Chief to World of Warcraft's iconic imagery.

The collaboration launches April 6, with five flavors tied to major Xbox franchises. Halo gets Fanta Pineapple, while Forza Horizon 6 pairs with Fanta Grape, Call of Duty claims Fanta Orange, Diablo IV receives a newly created Fanta Crimson Sour Cherry, and World of Warcraft rounds out the lineup with Fanta Strawberry.

Beyond the novelty of sipping from branded packaging, Microsoft and Fanta have layered in rewards and interactive elements. Each can features a QR code that unlocks in-game items and physical prizes when scanned. Fans completing Fanta Rewards Chest challenges have shots at winning Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions, controllers, Xbox Series S consoles, and the new ROG Xbox Ally.

Digital Rewards and Real-World Experience

The partnership extends into actual games. Halo players will unlock Master Chief's "Fantastic Spartan Armor," World of Warcraft offers a fantastical Goblin mount and additional cosmetics, Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 7 grant a tactical calling card and 2XP tokens, Diablo IV adds a Citron Whirl town portal, and Forza Horizon 6 delivers a 1966 Toyota Sports 800 Fanta Edition vehicle.

Microsoft is also hosting an immersive Diablo IV fan event in Los Angeles from May 22-25, branded as a "celebration of gaming and flavor." The experience will let attendees interact with Mephisto and compete for locked-away prizes, blending the demonic aesthetics of Diablo with beverage branding in what promises to be a distinctive marketing moment.

The initiative arrives as Microsoft prepares for a busy year ahead. An Xbox Games Showcase is slated for June, with Gears of War: E-Day receiving its own dedicated presentation. Forza Horizon 6 launches in May, while 2026 will bring the anticipated Halo: Campaign Evolved and a new Fable reboot.
